'' A Home That The Lord Has Built ''

Every big tree starts with a seed....

1970s

In the 1970s, Mary Fadel was studying at the American University when she became interested in establishing a center for the care of the elderly.

At that time, she held the position of President of the General Association of Women in the Evangelical Church. She presented her idea to the association, who supported the idea.

1981

Thanks to a core group of volunteers who believed in Mary’s vision, enough money was raised for the purchase of a 1,200 sq.m. plot of land in Nasr City. The Center for Geriatric Services was finally going to become a reality!

This house has been blessed from the start. When we first had the idea to build a home for the elderly, we reached out to our friends and families for help. Everyone we talked to was willing to give their time and effort to turn our dream into reality. The most beautiful thing was that they all considered the project their own.

1982 to 1988

The group’s faith in their mission was contagious. Architects and engineers took on the challenge and designed and built a modern and welcoming six-story building conceived to provide compassionate care for the elderly.

1989

The Center for Geriatric Services was inaugurated thanks to the hard work and diligence of the founders and volunteers who worked tirelessly to overcome countless challenges.

Today

This truly is a house that the Lord has built. Every time we faced a challenge, we prayed and worked, and God provided us with a solution. People believed in our project and gave generously. We’re so proud of what the CGS has become, but there is still much work to be done.

Today

The CGS continues to flourish with the grace of God and the commitment of its management, board members, and volunteers, providing a supportive community and exceptional care for more than 500 residents since its inauguration in 1989.
